Thank you for your interest in Girls Inc. of Halton's Summer Day Camp! Registration is now open! Our Early Bird price is $150/week and is valid until March 31, 2019. Regular pricing is $175/week. 

Looking forward to an exciting summer inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold!

 

Please note:

1. Girls Inc. of Halton reserves the right to cancel registrations with 14 days notice and will provide a full refund to the participant.

2. Girls Inc. of Halton camp locations may change and any changes will be communicated to participants before June 15, 2019.

2019 Summer Camp Lineup


Art and Technology

This week the girls will be using the medium of video to express themselves! Girls will explore how art and technology correlate and different ways we can use them.

Discovery Leadership

In “Discovery Leadership” girls will develop their leadership skills and create lasting social change through community action projects. They will celebrate the heritage of girls and women as leaders and develop awareness of themselves as community resources and trustees of the common good.

STEM: A Focus on Technology

Girls will explore the ever changing field of computer science and robotics. This program will support girls to pursue STEM related degrees and careers, through mentorship and exploration within this field.

Sporting Chance!

Girls will learn to appreciate an active lifestyle as they develop movement and athletic skills, cooperative and competitive spirit, health awareness, and interest in sports and adventures!

Girls Dig It (Archaeology)

In “Girls Dig it”, girls will explore the science of archaeology through hands on, minds on activities that lead them to questions the world around them and deepen their understanding of their own communities.

Forensic Science

Girls will work together to learn forensic science techniques like dusting for fingerprints and matching ink blot samples to solve mysteries that are occuring at Girls Inc. Camp!

General Questions About This Event

  • Who can attend camp?

    Girls who will be in grade 1 in September, to girls in grade 8 in September are eligible to attend camp!
  • Who can volunteer for camp?

    Adults 18+ with a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • What is your cancellation policy?

    A full refund for camp cancellations is available minus a $25 administration fee prior to June 30, 2019. After July 1, 2019, a 50% refund is available, minus a $25 administration fee if the request is made 5 business days prior to the starting day of camp. Unfortunately there are no refunds for changes made less than 5 business days prior to the start of camp. 
     
    Please submit all cancellation requests to registration@girlsinchalton.org. Refunds will be provided within 30 days via check or credit card at the discretion of Girls Inc. of Halton. 
  • What is your exchange policy?

    We understand that summer plans change and we offer week swaps at no cost, provided space is available and the request made within 3 business days of the registered week of camp.

  • Is previous Girls Inc. programming required to register?

    Previous Girls Inc. of Halton session experience is not required to attend or volunteer for camp.
  • Where will the camp be located?

    The camp will be hosted by a school in each city. Milton - Our Lady of Victory, 540 Commercial St, Acton - St Joseph, 147 Mill St, Georgetown - St Catherine of Alexandria, 407 Barber Dr, Burlington - St John, 653 Brant St, and Oakville North - Our Lady of Peace, 391 River Glen Blvd.
  • What if I can't afford camp?

    We are working hard to maintain program accessibility so all girls can attend Girls Inc. of Halton Camp.  Subsidies are available for all who need them. Email info@girlsinchalton.org!
  • Why should I enroll my daughter in this camp?

    Girls Inc. of Halton’s mission is to “inspire all girls to be strong smart and bold.”  During the school year we offer research based programs, in 21 schools across Halton Region that include: Friendly PEERsuasion, Media Smarts, Discovery Leadership and Action for Safety.  The summer camp will build on the principles in those four programs and actively encourage the holistic development of each girl.  Girls will create art and technology projects, learn more about health and wellness, while discovering more about themselves, their peers and our community.
  • What are the hours of camp?

    Camp will run Monday to Friday, with drop off starting at 8:00am and camp programming running from 9:00-4:00. Pick up is between 4:00-5:00pm. 
  • Is after care available?

    After care is offered for an additional $10 per week from 5:00-6:00.
